3.4.8 Shock (nonoperating). The motor shall meet requirements and show no damage

after exposure to half-sine wave shock impulses of 25 g for 11 ms (see 4.6.8).

3.4.9 Transient voltage. The motor shall meet the requirements during exposure to

transient voltage (see 4.6.9).

3.5 Electromagnetic interference. The motor shall comply with emissions and

susceptibility requirements of MIL-STD-461, class A (see 4.7).

4. VERIFICATION

4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are

classified as follows:

a. First article inspection (see 4.3).

1. Preproduction inspection (see 4.3.1).

2. Initial production inspection (see 4.3.2).

b. Conformance inspections (see 4.4).

4.2 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), all inspections shall be

performed using the following standard (room) ambient conditions:

a. Temperature: 25 + 10�C.

b. Relative humidity: Uncontrolled room ambient site pressure.

c. Atmospheric pressure: Site pressure.

4.3 First article inspection. First article inspection shall be performed on preproduction

and initial production samples as specified herein. Approval of the first article sample by the

Government shall not relieve the contractor of the obligation to supply motors that are fully

representative of those inspected as a first article sample. Any changes or deviation of the

production units from the first article sample shall be subject to the approval of the contracting

officer.

4.3.1 Preproduction inspection. When specified (see 6.2), the preproduction sample

shall consist of four motors. Inspections and tests specified in table III shall be performed.

4.3.2 Initial production inspection. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the Government

shall select four motors from the first twenty motors produced under the production contract for

initial production inspection. Inspections and tests specified in table III shall be performed.

4.4 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall include the examinations

and tests listed in table III.
